We are a part of this first beginning — a part of God’s creation and plan. God chose to birth this church and Ponca City at the same time, over 100 years ago while Oklahoma was still a territory. Since then, Ponca First and Ponca City and Oklahoma have grown up together.
From humble and simple beginnings, God has walked with us and worked through us to make a Christian difference in our community and state. Today we continue to strive to make a Christian difference.
Our historic sanctuary conveys the richness of tradition, while our Welcome Center embraces the freshness of the future. We greatly value what has been handed on to us from those who have gone before us, but we are not stuck looking only to the past — we also look forward to what God is calling us to become.
What we believe
As United Methodists, we believe God’s grace is for everyone. We take worship seriously, because our God is worthy of our sincere praise. And we believe the church is at its best when its doors — and its arms — are open wide. Whoever you are, wherever you are on your journey of faith, you are welcome here.
