Pastor Leon Veazey


​Pastor Leon was born Aug. 17, 1968, in Albuquerque, NM, and grew up mostly in Farmington, NM. He became a passionate believer in Jesus Christ at age 7, was baptized at age 8, and answered the call to vocational ministry at age 14. He was ordained to the gospel ministry in 1989, after which he has served 7 churches in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. He is a relational style leader, and is passionate about preaching, pastoral care, and community connection. In addition to his pastoral ministry vocation, Pastor Leon has served as a Client Services Coordinator for The Salvation Army and as a hospice chaplain. He is most happy when he is involved in his community.

Pastor Leon has two adult children, both married and living in Texas, and most importantly, three grandsons born in Dec. 2017, Dec. 2021, and April 2024!.

Our pastor is delighted to be a part of The First United Methodist Church of Ponca City, and he looks forward to getting to know the great people of our community and working together for the common good!
